We’re hosting an awesome, super foodie Eid celebration with our friends at Dinerama — you have to come!
Tuesday 19th June ~ 6p.m. — 10.30p.m
Dinerama, 19 Great Eastern Street
This is going to be an entirely unique Eid Al-Fitr celebration. We’ll bring alive the traditions of this lovely festival in the ever-so-brilliant (and seriously cool) space that is Dinerama, complete with their first-ever, entirely halal street food lineup. It’s going to be awesome. You can expect:
SPOKEN WORD AND POETRY
Mesmerising spoken word from Sukina Douglas of Poetic Pilgrimage and the marvelous Jamal Mehmood. (Full line up will follow soon… so keep your eyes peeled!)
SUPERB STREET FOOD
Tasty (and totally halal) treats from the very best Dinerama traders (plus a massive Dishoom Biryani!) and a super delicious array of mocktails.
Mehndi-wallis (henna artists) and lots of other cool goings-on will keep all entertained.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
Tickets are available from here. It will be an absolutely brilliant evening and we’d love people from all walks of life, young and old, across all faiths to come and celebrate with us. In the meantime, do follow the Facebook page for any updates and news about the line-up.
PS. Tickets are £6 and include entry to the event. Please note street food is not included in the ticket price and some traders can only accept card payments (no cash).
PPS. All food is halal, and this is an alcohol-free event.
Coronavirus has blown our world apart, and all Dishooms are currently closed. It feels like the right thing for us to do.
While the restaurants are closed, we offer solace in our cookery book, which is most certainly still available to order. May it bring Dishoom, joy and plenty of Daal to your home. From all of us, with love.
