We’re revelling after hours at:—

Whitechapel Lates: DAYTIMERS, a curated evening of art, live music, workshops, talks and poetry – inspired by artist Hammad Butt’s current exhibition: ‘Apprehensions’. Charged with themes of toxicity, homophobia and racism, Hammad opened up new dialogues between art and science. Expect an immersive mix of sound, space, sci-fi, faith and contemporary South Asian expression.

We’re circling our calendars for:—

Arooj Aftab and Ibrahim Maalouf at the BBC Proms. In her Proms debut, Grammy-winning singer Arooj graces the stage with a mesmerising sound – jazz, folk, pop, blues and South Asian classical, swelled to symphonic heights with Jules Buckley and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Ibrahim opens the night with his quarter-tone trumpet in a similarly evocative performance.

7.30pm, Tuesday 29th July at the Royal Albert Hall. Tickets £11 to £56 (plus booking fee).

We’re basking in the drama of:—

‘The ‘Estate’, a gripping rise to power in Shaan Sahota's new satirical play. BAFTA-winner Adeel Akhtar stars as Angad Singh – ambitious backbencher and favourite to lead the nation – until buried family secrets come to the fore. Fiercely funny and fearlessly told, directed by Daniel Raggett.

9th July – 23rd August at the National Theatre.

We’re moving to the rhythm of:—

Peter Cat Recording Co.’s UK tour of their new album, BETA. This genre-defying New Delhi quintet conjure an entirely new sound world. Dizzying stylistic shifts, sub-aquatic bass, cinematic cabaret-punk, psychedelic slow waltzes, and more take you to a near-future and a distant past. Join the global following.

BBC Short Film ‘Zoners’, a 14-minute sitcom where brothers Samir and Nikhil accidentally steal a package from their ‘unpredictable’ neighbour, Ivan. Zippy dialogue, sharp humour and an escalating sense of "uh-oh" ensue. Starring Karan Gill and Ikky Kabir.rown.
