A little more detail on the Home Feast ...

House Black Daal –  A labour of love, cooked for over 24 hours for dark, rich, deeply-flavoured harmony. Allow us to take care of that rather hard work. Simply heat up and enjoy.

Lamb Sheekh Kababs – Succulent, tender lamb mince marinated with green chilli, coriander and cumin ready to be skewered and delicately charred under the grill.

Mattar Paneer – A steadfast, humble and delicious vegetarian curry with a rich tomato base, sweet peas and mild Indian cheese. Warm your heart with its heartiness.

Murgh Malai – Finest chicken thighs, richly marinated in a mildly spiced blend of garlic, ginger, coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric and a little cream, primed for grilling.

Kachumber – Whole tomatoes, cucumbers and onions ready to chop and mix with coriander and lime juice for freshness and crunch.

Bhel – A tempting delicacy, and sunset snack of choice on Chowpatty Beach. Puffed rice, peanuts, Bombay Mix and nylon sev tossed with fresh pomegranate, tomato, onion, lime, tamarind and mint – cold and crunchy, light and lovely.

Tawa Rotis  – Three dough balls artfully handmade with wholemeal atta flour ready to be rolled out and gently browned. Lighter than a naan, these will counter the richness of your Home Feast nicely.

Gulkand Mess – Strawberries in rose syrup, muddled with fresh cream and meringue. Sweet, indulgent, sublime.

Special extras

Kabab Masala – The house spice mix that finishes many a Dishoom dish. Savoury, spicy and a little sour. A generous helping to use for this feast and many more to come.

Teatowel – Finest quality organic cotton, with a pleasing "Dishoom Textiles" design. Generously sized, handy for keeping fresh rotis warm, and something you will enjoy using for years to come.

Salted Butter – Milk of renowned quality, churned in the traditional way in Somerset for generously slathering onto your freshly made rotis.

And to drink...

Mango Lassi – Superior yoghurt blended with fresh mango pulp. Welcome coolness.

You may also upgrade your kit to include a bottle of organic sparkling Italian wine.

Int3gral3 Organic Unfiltered Frizzante Bianco, NV, Trento – A delicious natural wine with just the right body to complement these flavourful dishes. Gently fizzing with lively sparkles and a cloud of white flowers with a dry grapefruit bite. Naturally lower in alcohol (10.5%) but mirth is likely.

Celebrate Iftar with Dishoom

The holy month of Ramadan is upon us, when Muslims around the world fast daily from dawn till dusk. It is a time of private worship and spiritual discipline, but also of shared joy and abundant feasting. Families and communities come together at suhoor, the pre-dawn meal, and at iftar, the evening meal, to break their fasts with copious, delicious dishes. Join us on 7th April for our own Iftar celebration – for an evening of feasting and live music.
