Dishoom Manchester
Halal-friendly fare
For a delectable selection of halal dishes, pay a visit to Dishoom Manchester. Formerly a Freemasons’ Hall, it’s now where you’ll find true Bombay comfort food – inspired by treasured corners of the city. From lunchtime onwards, a host of halal-friendly favourites await: flavoursome grills, small plates, moreish chaats and Nalli Nihari Biryani, our lavish Café Special. All our lamb, chicken and turkey is sourced from halal-certified suppliers (we keep copies of the certificates), and all non-halal items are stored and prepared separately. Book ahead, or just walk in. Available daily from 12pm.

With love from Bombay
Dine early or late. Graze on halal-friendly small plates and finest snackery, and feast on Dishoom favourites – including our berry-studded Chicken Berry Britannia and slow-simmered House Black Daal. An array of vegetarian delights, too. Or simply quench thirsts with lovingly-brewed House Chai and deeply drinkable teetotal tipples – not a single drop of alcohol within. Perhaps a Mango Lassi, sparkling Sharbat or nostalgic Thums Up.

Resplendent new flavours
Nalli Nihari Biryani:— Nihari – a famously hearty and robust dish – is synonymous with celebration. Made into a biryani, it is doubly so. Tender shank of halal lamb is layered with rice and caramelised onions then sealed beneath a pastry blanket. Enriched further with kaleji (chicken liver) raita and nihari gravy. Best when shared.
Chicken Ruby:— Tender halal chicken in a rich, silky makhani sauce. A good and proper curry redolent with spice and flavour.
Dishoom House Chaat:— Warm-cold, sweet-tangy, moreish. Golden-fried sweet potato covered with cool yoghurt, pomegranate, beetroot, radish and carrot. Tamarind drizzle and green chutney lift it nicely.
