Each year, the arrival of Diwali ushers in joy, hope and the promise of a bright new year. At Dishoom, in Bombay and around the world, people celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Family, friends, neighbours and community warmly embrace one another, regardless of wealth, status, race, background or beliefs.
This year, we invited one and all to a night of revelry, laughter, eating and dancing. Guests were delighted by a magnificent array of South Asian talent, with music and dance curated by our friends, Dialled In. House of Henna painted beautiful intricate mehendi on all who wanted. Big Penny Social was made resplendent with swathes of burnished-saffron fabric, marigold garlands and sunrise-flushed chandeliers.
